Molly Sturges

Molly is the Founding Artistic Director of Littleglobe, a diverse artist collaborative devoted to arts and social change. She is best known for hybrid projects integrating performance, creative exchange, and social and environmental equity and health. She has created large-scale performance and engagement projects with communities around the globe for over 17 years. Awards and commissions include 2008 United States Artist Fellowship in Music, The European Union Festival of Culture, Santa Fe Opera, MAP Fund, Stockton International Arts Festival, Blackrock, New World Foundation, National Hispanic Cultural Center and many more. Molly is on the faculty of The University of New Mexico (Art & Ecology), The Academy for the Love of Learning (Co-Founder of Lifesongs) and is a national advisor on several cultural strategy initiatives (Rockwood, Opportunity Agenda).

Molly holds an MA in music composition from Wesleyan University. She has been an artist-in-residence with a wide range of communities including the Scotland’s Art-In-Hospital program, Fathom (UK), and Gilda’s Clubhouse (NYC). Molly is a devoted musical improviser and student of artistic experimental practices and community-sourced art making. She speaks several languages, and works as an artist-in-residence, workshop leader, guest speaker and facilitator both abroad and in the United States. She is also a performing vocalist, recording artist, and leader of creative music ensembles. She has written and performed original music for a wide array of projects, including music for dance companies, silent films, circuses, and sound installations.
